Chapman HIV Charity Cabaret

Gordon Jarvie, BSO patient and supporter, has masterminded an amazing evening of entertainment on Sunday 23rd August. Our first ever cabaret event will involve some fantastic singers, performers and musicians – as well as an auction of some brilliant experiences and ‘money can’t buy’ items. So whether your tastes are for whiskey (a bottle of House of Commons' speakers blend malt whiskey signed by the Speaker the Right Honourable John Bercow MP), wine (a case of vintage wine), football (a Manchester United shirt signed by the team) or TV (a behind-the-scenes visit to a TV studio), you’ll find something to bid for....(more)

Giving is the best therapy

Last week, we had an action-packed week of fundraising with our annual Golf Day on Thursday 2nd July and the 10K Regent’s Park Run on Sunday 5th July. Both fundraising events went brilliantly and were great fun for everyone who attended. So how did the 10K run go? Running for the community

On Sunday 5th July, a team of enthusiastic BSO runners will be running 10K in Regents Park to raise money for the BSO. The team consisting of staff, students, patients and members of the public, are running to raise money for the BSO’s community clinics which provide free osteopathic care for vulnerable people and for those that need it the most. The money raised will enable us to carry on providing free osteopathic care for babies and children at 1st Place and at our teaching clinic, for the homeless at the Manna Centre, the elderly at Blackfriars Settlement and Lucy Brown House and for people living with HIV infection at our Chapman and Royal Free Hospital clinics....(more)

Specialist Paediatric Osteopathic Practice - An interview with Samantha Fennell

In 2015, the British School of Osteopathy launched a brand new postgraduate qualification designed to give practising osteopaths the knowledge, skills and experience to specialise in working with babies and children. As a growing area of osteopathic practice, the need for osteopaths to develop confidence and expertise in working with children is important. The team at the School had recognised that existing courses focused on a cranial approach to treatment, and wanted to ensure that the new qualification at the BSO would focus on a structural approach....(more)
