Crisis at Christmas

The British School of Osteopathy is working with the charity Crisis to help them provide medical care over the Christmas period to thousands of homeless people. Crisis are expecting over 4,000 homeless guests in their 10 centres across London over Christmas this year. Over 6,500 people slept rough on the streets of London during 2013/14. This figure has doubled in six years and sadly continues to rise. They have over 8,000 volunteers who provide more than 40 services including healthcare appointments, physiotherapy and alternative healing services....(more)

The BSO at War

Remembrance Sunday, the second Sunday in November, is the day traditionally put aside to remember all those who have given their lives for the peace and freedom we enjoy today. On this day people across the nation pause to reflect on the sacrifices made by our brave service men and women. As this year marks the Centenary of the First World War, we have asked National Osteopathic Archive historian and author, John O'Brien, to write a piece about the British School of Osteopathy during the early part of the 20th Century and how osteopaths contributed to the war effort by offering their skills to injured soldiers....(more)

Running the Royal Parks Half Marathon

M.Ost student and keen runner, Karen Lemon, recently took part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon. The stunning 13.1 mile route takes in the capital’s world-famous landmarks on closed roads – Buckingham Palace, London Eye, Houses of Parliament and the Royal Albert Hall – and four of London’s eight Royal Parks – Hyde Park, The Green Park, St James’s Park and Kensington Gardens. Friends of Alan Diamond Treatment Room

We were delighted to welcome Dr Alan Diamond OBE and Sheila Diamond to an informal naming event at our Clinical Centre today. The generous donations made by Alan's friends in honour of his birthday in May this year have gone towards funding our children's clinics, and a new 'Friends of Alan Diamond' treatment room was named in his honour today....(more)
