BSO Retains Best Companies Star Status

The British School of Osteopathy (BSO) has, for the second year running, been awarded one star status in the Best Companies 2010 accreditation project. It has also been awarded 56th place on the new Sunday Times 100 Best Places to Work in the Public and Charity Sectors list. BSO Batters the Opposition in Pancake Day Race Victory

A crack team of BSO students tossed aside all competition, seizing victory in the fifth annual Better Bankside Pancake Day Race, which was held beside Southwark Cathedral at lunchtime on 8 March 2011. Mike Fatica, Donal O’Reilly, Oliver Eaton and George Dimitradis beat off 24 other teams from local organisations and businesses, including a “sister” team of BSO staff members, who had all paid entry donations going to local charity Paintings In Hospitals in order to join in the fun....(more)

BSO Vice-Principal Wins CAM Award

The 2011 CAM Outstanding Contribution to the Community award has been won by Steven Vogel, British School of Osteopathy (BSO) Vice Principal (Research and Quality).Steven accepted his award at a special ceremony at the Cavendish Conference Centre, central London on 26 March 2011. Organised by CAM (Complementary and Alternative Medicine) magazine and sponsored by Biocare, the ceremony followed a one-day education conference. Steven heads the BSO’s pioneering research team which is working to further develop the evidence base for osteopathy. He is leading the large, funded study entitled Investigating osteopaths’ attitudes to managing and assessing risk in clinical settings and adult patients’ experiences and responses to osteopathic treatment, also known as the Clinical Risk Osteopathy and Management (CROaM) study, which is being conducted by the BSO and other partners....(more)

BSO Strengthens Links with Norwegian Osteopaths

BSO Principal and Chief Executive Charles Hunt travelled to Norway in March 2011 to meet with members of the Norwegian Association of Osteopathy and to sign a memorandum of understanding between the BSO and the Oslo-based Nordic Academy of Osteopathy. Charles Hunt said: “I am very pleased to have signed this agreement. The ability to share good practice between osteopaths in the UK and Norway can only be of benefit to us both in the future.” ...(more)
